SexySecond Issue 3 Now Available as a Download PDF

May 17th, 2008 by Jaime Wheeler

I think that Issuu is the greatest thing for pdf magazines since sliced bread. Well, hold it. I need to rethink that metaphor because sliced bread doesn’t do much for pdf magazines.

A few people reported that Issuu didn’t like their browser, however, or that it was a pain to get there because Issuu wanted you to update your flash player or some other technical thingy, so not everyone is singing the Issuu praises as loudly as I do…

And then….a bunch of you contacted me or left comments that you miss the downloadable pdf version of SexySecond. Well, for all these reasons, I finally have broken down and redone the mag for download! I should warn you that it is a ginormous file (60 mb) but it is spectacular because it is truly full size, all the fabulous pictures just shine.

You can get the download Here on the archive page of the magazine section of the website.

In the future I will do both a version at Issuu and one for download. Sorry it took me so long to get this done for this issue!

eep! Take me to your leader!

You may wonder why Shang is looking a little “green”, well it’s because I’ve picked up the a greenie avatar. These avatars (complete with attachments for a total “look”) are available from the greenie main shop, but there’s a catch: you have to hunt for four tickets to rez in the main shop. Teleport to the “Dump” location, walk down the dark tunnel, and click on the sign that looks like the one below.

This will give you your first ticket in a folder titled “Greenies Ticket Collection Point #1″. You will need all four tickets to get the free avatar. Just go to the other three locations listed in the note card “Greenies Tickets Instructions” and follow the hints in the note card (they’re easy peasy) to collect the other three tickets. Once you have all four tickets, click the link in the note card to go to the shop, rez all four tickets (they disappear as they are rezzed), and you will be given a random greenie avatar. The tickets can only be used once.

Marla Black Petal Gown only 1L!

May 17th, 2008 by Stella Stapleton

marla_black_petal_dollarbie.jpgRhiannon Rossini, one of the designers of Marla, created this gorgeous gown called Black Petal! It’s one of my absolute favourites - it’s sexy, glamourous, flirty, fun and the flexi prim skirt just glides around you when you dance. We just couldn’t keep this little gem all to ourselves, so we wanted to give you a taste. So, visit us at Stella’s Mall on Stella Isle - you’ll find it on sale at the main entrance for only 1 linden! We hope you enjoy it!

Men’s Corner: The Great Outdoors

May 16th, 2008 by Ryan Darragh

The last few days, I’ve been hoping on and off (more on than off) that the “unseasonably warm” temperatures in my RL home city (Los Angeles) will return quickly to milder and more usual weather. Please, God, let the meteorologists be meaningfully right, just for once. I know it will be 110 Fahrenheit degrees plus in September, but right now it is quite frankly too damn early in the season for this nonsense. (more…)

Hair Business and Odd Info

May 16th, 2008 by Teagan Blackthorne

First the business part, if you are a hair designer and have not received a notecard from Laynie or I this past week give us a nudge. It might have been lost to capped IMs, it could have been sent when SL was being a bit borked, or in our frustration at said borkness we could have accidentally missed your name.

Second, here are some fun/odd/interesting hair info:
1. Hair grows about a half an inch per month no matter what you do. But it will grow a littler faster in the summer than in the winter.
2. The only places hair does not grow is on the soles of your feet, your palms, or your lips.
3. Hair is the fastest growing tissue in the body, second only to bone marrow.
4. The average scalp has 100,000 hairs.
5. 90% of scalp hairs are growing and 10% are resting.
6. It is normal to lose 100 hairs per day from the scalp.

JetDoll - Wanda Woodward

May 16th, 2008 by Teagan Blackthorne

Today’s style is from JetDoll.

The Wanda Woodward style is based on the style that Traci Lords wore for her role as Wanda Woodward in Crybaby. This is a long, mostly straight style with curls flipping up and out at the ends. The hair in front has Bettie bangs edging the forehead with framing pieces falling down in front of the ears. The top of the style has high volume around the crown giving the whole style a lift.

The Wanda Woodward style costs $150L per color and the demos are $1L. The colors include:
black, blonde, brown, light blonde, plum, red.

Color Therapy

May 16th, 2008 by Anessa Stine

Sometimes it is necessary to inject some color into your day. Days like that call for fun shoes that are whimsical and come in punched up bright shades. Erpla Prieto of Periquita Shoes does that better than anyone, and it is a no-brainer to reach for some of her fun footwear whenever that need arises. Her latest release, the Mary Squares, are a sweet chunky MaryJane with an adorable upturned toe and button detail on the strap.

I am wearing the oh-so-happy Magenta. Also shown are; Mint, Purple and Yellow… but there are 9 equally fantastic colors in all. Check them out at Periquita Shoes.

I am also wearing PXL Skin, ETD Hair, Dress & Stockings from OAHARU, Necklace and Earrings by Atelier AM, Bracelets by FBG (Fresh Baked Goods).

Corset Heaven

May 16th, 2008 by Stella Stapleton

I was happily shopping around and about one day and happened upon an SF Design outlet. This little lingerie number just jumped out at me and said “buy me”. Not one to ignore the shopping muse, I bought it. I was so pleased with what I discovered! This lingerie set is called Petite Coquine in pink. I read in the enclosed notecard that the underbust corset was designed by RL designer Elle of “Heavenly Corsets” and can be purchased in RL as well (http://www.ellecorsets.co.uk). I just loved the realistic texturing of the corset and the delicacy of the prim flounce skirt and the lacy shoulder straps. This garment is really well executed and darn it I just felt so pretty! I loved it so much I snapped a pic to show you.sf_Design_petite_coquine.jpg
